8 Days Left for Nutcracker Art & Essay Contest

In an effort to continue to introduce the arts to students,

 

Central Florida Ballet is currently underway in its 

4th Annual Nutcracker Art & Essay Contest

Central Florida Ballet is sponsoring this contest among students of Orange, Lake, Osceola and Seminole Counties in all three levels: Elementary, Middle, and High school. These students will have the opportunity to enter Christmas or Nutcracker themed essays, poems, or art pieces to be judged by a Central Florida Ballet committee. Written entries must be no more than 350 words. Submissions of clay, pottery, or other breakable artwork are NOT permitted.

Submission Categories:

• SMALL/LARGE PAGE ART WORK
• OIL ON CANVAS
• SHORT STORY/POEM

Features & Prizes: The winning art pieces will be displayed at the Orange County Convention center during the "Nutcracker" performances on December 9 - 11, 2011. The overall first place winner will receive 6 tickets to The Nutcracker; the overall second place winner will receive 4 tickets; and the overall third place winner will receive 2 tickets.

Deadlines for Entries: Wednesday, November 30, 2011! The drop off location is the Central Florida Ballet studios located at 3306 Maggie Blvd, Suite B, Orlando, FL, 32811. The art work pieces will be held for two weeks after the show at our studios for students who wish to pick up the pieces entered for the contest.
